Supervised Access For Everyone
The Supervised Access program is a fee for service program.
Skilled visit supervisors provide supervision for
non-custodial parents and/or siblings in order to have access to
their loved one. Our goal is to offer a stress-free
environment for the child to have an enjoyable experience with the
parent.
Parent coaching may be part of the visit if requested, particularly
if there has been a lapse of time since seeing the child.
Visit supervisors can help parents understand the emotional needs of
a child under these circumstances. They can also provide
information about attending to the needs of your infant or toddler.
To set the process in motion, a meeting is set for each of the
parties. The court order sets out the legal parameters of the
visit and the custodial and access parents determine the practical conditions and expectations
of the visits. Counselling, advocacy, or mediation for parents
is not part of the Supervised Access Program.
The supervisor's observations are documented and are provided to
both parties in the form of monthly reports. The best interest
of the child is first and foremost in all cases.
