CFLA Christmas Hamper Program

Through Cowichan Family Life's Christmas Hamper Program, you can join with family, friends or colleagues to create a Christmas Hamper for one or more of the 40 families who will receive food and gifts this year.

We Ask That You Follow The "One Box Rule"

Please keep your hamper to one box only. To help meet this request, sponsors are strongly encouraged to leave the grocery shopping to the family by providing a gift card to a local grocery store. It's the best way to shop for someone who might be a vegetarian, enjoy ethnic dishes, have food allergies or a special diet, and it's easy to carry!

How Much Does It Cost?

The Cowichan Family Life Christmas Hamper model is a perfect way for colleagues, groups, or family members to come together and create a "Christmas in a Box" for families who would not otherwise have the resources to celebrate this joyful event. 

Families are referred to CFLA by Social Workers, School Counsellors, and CFLA program staff.  Our aim is to provide parents with the resources they need to provide Christmas for their children through the help of community members.  Call to find out how you can join our team of Hamper Helpers this Christmas.

It's so easy!  Sponsors will be provided with basic information about a family; ages of the children and special gift requests. CFLA can provide suggestion lists for age appropriate gifts.

When Must The Hampers Be Ready?

All hampers must be delivered to the drop off location and then are  delivered to families in mid December.

Our Program Respects Our Clients' Privacy

We respect and protect the privacy of each Recipient Family.

Your Donation is Tax-Deductible

If you wish to receive a tax deduction, keep all your original receipts. A "Tax Receipt Request Form" will be provided to record your purchases for your hamper. If food gift cards are your only proof of purchase, please photocopy each card back and submit the copies with your form.

What Else Can I Do?

If you are unable to sponsor a family, but still wish to help, we gratefully accept donations of cash, new toys or food gift cards. A tax receipt will be issued for all cash donations.
