Cowichan Family Life
celebrating 40 years of service to Cowichan

Cowichan Family Life grew out of a grass roots movement that believed counselling should be available to everyone regardless of their ability to pay and that the average person with an interest in helping could become A skilled and successful counsellors.

Cowichan Family Life is beginning our 40th year of successfully providing affordable and accessible counselling for adults requesting help with current issues that are negatively impacting their wellbeing and their lives.

Cowichan Community Resource Bus

The Cowichan Community Resource Bus is a new collaborative initiative with a goal of equitable access to programs for children 0 - 5 and their parents or caregiver.   The bus, modeled after Parksville's WOW Bus, was renovated to accommodate onboard literacy and learning activities.
The bus currently makes weekly visits TO outlying areas including Penelekut Island (Kuper), Crofton, Malahat First Nation, Lake Cowichan, and Duncan's Sherman Road bringing Strong Start BC Outreach, storytelling, bubbles, wee hand crafts, and often, free clothing.
NEW NEWS! The project has just received $28,000 from Queen Alexandra Foundation for "Second Stops" and "Storybook Character Costumes".  Plans are underway to visit Halalt First Nations, Cowichan Tribes' Boys Road kids park, and Chesterfield Road area of Duncan.  For more information on how your voice can be heard and participate in this project, please call Maureen at 250-748-8281
