Cowichan Family Life has reached our goal to return to the downtown core returning to our original location at 28 - 127 Ingram Street in Duncan in December of 2009. A team of 7 part-time and On Call staff and over 18 regular active volunteers work together to provide quality services to individuals, children, and families in Cowichan. 

Cowichan Family Life is dedicated to supporting students by providing quality mentoring and practicum placements for students in ECE, CYC diploma or BA, and MA Counselling programs or related field of study. Cowichan Family Life has been recognized for outstanding service as a practicum placement from participating universities. 

Positions available - 1 Summer Camp Coordinator $15.50; 1 Summer Camp Counsellor $14.50/hr   35 hrs per wk - Full time positions for spring/summer employment.  Must be entering 3rd or 4th year BA Child and Youth Care or equivalent; meet all requirements of Service Canada Summer Students; AND must have Class 5 Driver's Licence and sufficient safe driving experience to transport children safely. Competitive wage, mileage, and excellent work experience that supports CYC education and employment goals.

Position Available - Stay and Play Co-facilitator   $12.50/hr full time - 30 hrs per wk - Summer Student to assist the facilitator to plan, design, and deliver a high quality summer early learning and literacy outreach program for children 0-6 yrs of age and their families. Work is expected to be onboard the Community Resource Bus at various locations.   Must be culturally sensitive to First Nations people and practices; have minimum of 1 year post secondary education in ECE, CYC or related field.  High school student may be considered with sufficient experience. meet all requirements of Service Canada Summer Students.
